Chemical Peels
This is a process that removes a micro-thin top layer of skin. This will help unclog pores and refresh the skin.
The micro peel, is performed as part of a periodic skin care program using a glycolic acid solution in a three step process which removes the outer skin layer, exposing newer, healthier skin.
Micro peel treatments have been clinically proven to:
- Decrease the thickness of the outer, dead cell layer (stratum Corneum). This corrects the full, sallow look
of the skin, improving clarity and brightness, which results in a more evenly toned complexion. Although no
treatment can claim to truly shrink pores, this will unclog pores and make them appear smaller.

- Increase the thickness of the underlying living layer (Epidermis). This rejuvenates skin by restoring
texture and vitality to the skin surface.

- Increase the water trapping elements (Glycosa-Minoglycans) in the dermis of the skin. This replenishes
the skin's water content increasing skin hydration, and smoothes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

- Excellent for the treatment of acne, melasma, hyperpigmentation, and sun damaged skin.

- Micro peel treatments are recommended to be done in a series of 6 treatments at 2-4 week intervals.
After completion of the 6 treatment series. The patient should return for a "Maintenance Treatment:
every 4-8 weeks for continued best results.

What is the Obagi Blue Peel?
The Obagi BLUE PEEL is a one to four step application of blue solution mixed with TCA (Trichloracetic Acid). These applications will lead to the removal of thin surface layers of aged and damaged skin. Layers of dead skin cell exfoliate and are replaced by healthier ones allowing the skin's own clarity and tightness to resurface.

How is the Obagi Blue Peel different then the alpha hydroxy products used by doctors and aestheticians today?
The Obagi BLUE PEEL represents a breakthrough and significant improvement in skin rejuvenation. Using slow acting TCA, instead of glycolic acid the Obagi BLUE PEEL enables the skin care specialist to control the peel process and its depth. The process is tailored to the nature of the problem to be corrected: wrinkles, scars, laxity or pigmentation problems.

What can I expect?
|
Depending upon the condition of your skin, 1-4 coats of the Obagi BLUE PEEL solution will be applied. Most people will not require sedation. If sedation is indicated you will need someone to drive you home.
At each level, you will experience a mild burning sensation that will last 2-3 minutes. We may use an electric fan to minimize this sensation. A Bluish tint remains on your skin: it will usually wash off in 12-24 hours. Your skin will begin to peel within 2 to 3 days and should be healed in an average to 7 to 10 days. This peeling should not disrupt your regular lifestyle.
