Prevelle Silk®

Prevelle Silk® is used to fill in fine lines, especially around the lips. Because it causes very little swelling or bruising it can be used on the day of a social event for a last-minute correction to facial lines or lips.

If you have a special event to attend and want to do some last minute corrections to facial lines and lips, Prevelle Silk® is the ideal solution. Because results are immediate and it causes so little swelling or bruising, you can even use it the day of your event without worry.

Designed for both men and women who want to do something about wrinkles, Prevelle Silk® achieves a result similar to Botox. However, it differs because it adds volume to the skin, filling in wrinkles, while Botox relaxes the muscles surrounding the wrinkles. Your Sarasota Plastic Surgery surgeon may recommend a combination of the two to best achieve your desired outcome.

Treatment

Using a very fine needle, the doctor will inject the facial skin one or two times, depending on the depth of the wrinkle being treated. The Prevelle Silk® serum is a combination of hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in the body and lidocaine, which is added for comfort. The procedure takes only a few minutes and there is little to no downtime.

Be Aware

Prevelle Silk® is safe for most people. However, if you are on certain medications - for example, those that lower the body's immune system - or have certain allergies you should not use it. Anyone taking blood thinners or anti-inflammatory drugs should be aware that they are at risk of increased bleeding or bruising near the site of the injection. Of course, your Sarasota Plastic Surgery surgeon will discuss your medications and medical history with you.

Talk to your doctor before resuming strenuous exercise, exposure to the sun, and consuming alcohol. However, most everyday activities can be safely resumed almost immediately.
