Mini Lift in Sarasota

As we age, the skin and underlying tissues of the face and neck lose their elasticity and support causing sagging, folds and wrinkles. Sometimes these changes are limited to discrete areas such as the cheek or neck regions. In this case, a patient may not need a full facelift procedure. One of the mini lifts may address a more localized problem. Our doctors are renowned locally and internationally for their delicate touch and eye for balance and symmetry. This artistic sensibility is critical to successful mini facelift procedures. At Sarasota Plastic Surgery the experience and training of our *board certified plastic surgeons is a huge asset in the quest for a natural looking result.

The mini lift is known in St. Petersburg, Bradenton, and throughout Southwest Florida by many different names such as the short scar lift, Quick lift, S-lift, and MAC-Lift among others. In general, mini lifts are confined to a limited area of the face. They tend to be suited best for patients with less advanced changes associated with aging. The incisions are shorter and the healing process may be quicker. For discussion purposes, we will divide the mini lifts into 2 categories, the cheek lifts and neck lifts. Cheek lifts are the procedures in the upper (cheek) region and neck lifts will describe the procedures on the lower (neck) part of the face.

The result is a blend of your individual anatomy, scientific principles, and the skill, style, and artistry of the surgeon. Every face is unique and the sculpting required for each patient should be individualized. It should be performed only by a qualified, experienced, *board certified plastic surgeon.

Are You a Good Candidate?

To be a good candidate for any plastic surgery, you must have realistic expectations about what the procedure can do for you. It’s important to understand that a mini facelift can enhance your appearance and self-confidence but, like all plastic surgery, it is not going to solve underlying emotional issues you may have. Always think carefully about your expectations and discuss any concerns you have with your surgeon.

Common Questions

Can a mini lift be combined with other procedures?

Yes, and our surgeons commonly perform these combined procedures. Mini lift patients who have sagging skin or wrinkles in the upper part of their faces in addition to the lower face and neck may want to consider a brow lift or eyelid surgery. Our surgeons can perform all these options at once in a procedure that doesn’t require significantly longer downtime and that produces a dramatic result. Our physicians recommend the best surgical approach during a candid consultation.

What is the recovery like?

One of the benefits of a mini lift over a traditional facelift is that the recovery period is shorter and more comfortable because the surgery does not go as deep. Most patients take about a week off work and say any discomfort is easily managed with prescribed and over-the-counter pain medications.

Will the scars be noticeable?

No. Another benefit of the mini lift is that the incisions are shorter than those of a full facelift. Although they are placed in similar areas (around the ears and hairline), they are smaller and are very fine. Our surgeons take special care to use precise surgical techniques that do not damage surrounding tissues, and each patient receives detailed instructions on scar care to help incisions heal and fade quickly. Recently, Sarasota Plastic Surgery began using embrace® Advanced Scar Therapy, an FDA-approved and clinically proven method of reducing the final scar after abdominoplasty.

What does it cost?

It is difficult to outline the cost of a mini lift or any procedure at our Sarasota clinic without a consultation, because a number of different factors can affect the final figure. However, our fees are comparable to other *board certified surgeons in our area. Learn more about our fees and financing, and we will be happy to give you a quote at a consultation.
